Project Story
Our participation in the Sign & Print Expo in Stockholm marked a major milestone for us. It was our first time showcasing our capabilities at a Scandinavian event, and the excitement in the air was palpable. The expo gathered the best and brightest in signage, printing, and advertising from across the region, and we were eager to demonstrate our custom neon developments to this new market. On the second day, while our booth was buzzing with interest, we were approached by a representative from Centrumbiografen, a historic movie theater in Ronneby, Sweden.
The theater wanted to refresh its identity with a modern sign while retaining a sense of nostalgia and warmth that reflected the essence of their beloved cinema. They envisioned a sign with white neon text, accentuated by a blue circle, complete with a glowing electric blue halo—a bold but elegant design.
What made this project particularly challenging was the fact that the letters were to be mounted on a curved surface, which introduced technical complexities in shaping the neon and ensuring consistent illumination. Fortunately, we had already been pushing the boundaries of our custom neon tubing technology, and this project allowed us to apply our innovations to a real-world application.
After detailed discussions on-site at the expo, we refined the design back at our workshop. The curved surface required precision in mounting the neon to maintain an even glow across the entire sign. The end result was a sleek and visually captivating sign, with its clean white neon script perfectly balanced by the electric blue accents. This sign now lights up Centrumbiografen’s entrance, becoming a modern icon in Ronneby, blending cutting-edge technology with the classic charm of a traditional movie theater.
Not only did this project solidify our presence in the Scandinavian market, but it also demonstrated our ability to take on unique, technically demanding signage while maintaining our commitment to craftsmanship and detail.
